When I was at the Sunnyside art show I picked up some great pieces by Melissa Charles. She has been playing with her many photos, shot over the years, by etching into them to create movement and imagination within each piece. I loved the image of a lady on a wall (shot in downtown Toronto), and could stare at her repeated line work forever!
-she was also handing out free photos with her contact info etched right into them- such a lovely idea.
-to give an idea of how difficult this technique is I tried my hand at it (image of the banana below) and .. well.. the result was just not the same.
