old ideas/new photos

all above photos by Kate Hogg 2011

Last year I was playing around a lot with my photos and photo transfers (see blog post 'A series of experiences'), this year after moving back to Canada, I wanted to document the nature all around us. The trees became my inspiration; the changing colours from summer to fall to winter, the textures, the smells. I loved it all! so I got myself another disposable camera and shot my surroundings.

-above are some selected photos from the roll. I would like to blow them up BIG and transfer them on beautiful canvas and distress them and paint them etc, etc (that's the plan atleast).

enjoy!

inking my mind

playing with watercolour on paper, I signed these all 2011 but actually did them last week; 2012. keep on forgetting its a new year!

enjoy!

a lovely holiday

As noted in my previous post 'Bliss', I spent some time lounging on a beach this past Christmas, down south in Florida on the gulf cost.

'Bryan Hogg' by Kate Hogg, screen print on frosted vellum, 38"x 25", 2011

Another piece I did back in November - December 2011 for a print course. Using my father, Bryan Hogg as muse I wanted to celebrate his creativity, his brilliance and his obvious hard working lifestyle represented through his hands.
